A Week in Roma, Part I

Last week, Ryan and I traded in Fourth of July fireworks and BBQ for a quick tour of Rome (along with some pizza, pasta and gelato, of course). This was my first Independence Day out of the country, but Rome was the most beautiful place and I hear all I missed in Atlanta was rain.

When planning this trip, a lot of people we talked to seemed surprised that we were posting up in Rome for the entire week instead of traveling around. While there are still a lot more places I'd like to see in Italy, we had no trouble filling up a week with all things Rome: Colosseum, Pantheon, Vatican, St. Peter's Basilica, a handful of piazzas, and we even took a day trip to Pompeii and Sorrento.

We got home on Saturday night, but in between finishing Scandal season two and sleeping, it was hard to find time to upload my photos. Here are some of my favorites from the trip. I'll post more later this week with some of our findings and tips.
