the zoo.

For weeks now, my boyfriend and I have been talking about going to the zoo. It's been a good 12 years since I made my last visit, so the day before my birthday - a holiday in its own right and known to most as St. Patrick's Day - the weather finally agreed with us and we found ourselves strolling through Grant Park and in through the gates of Zoo Atlanta.

Now, I'm going to let you in on a little secret that's not-so-secret (since I wasn't aware, I feel inclined to share): you can go to the zoo for free. For free, y'all! Just days before our adventure, I learned of this little trick and was fortunate enough to find an unclaimed family pass at the Ponce de Leon Public Library.

So don't save your pretty pennies, friends. Mosey on along to your public library and get a family pass for free! And while you're there, check out some pretty adorable animals, pet some goats and see if you can possibly be more scared of the dangerously low-flying birds at the bird show than I was.
