Costa Rica: Pacuare Lodge

The first stop on our trip was the Pacuare Lodge, where we rafted our way in and rafted our way right back out after two wonderful, luxurious nights. In between rafting ventures, we kayaked, hiked to a waterfall, saw a sloth (!!) and enjoyed wonderful food, wine and Tico Sours (my favorite Costa Rican cocktail by far).

Everyone at Pacuare was incredible - from our guides to the groundskeepers to the kitchen staff - and we couldn't have felt more welcome or pampered. Since the rooms have no electricity, the staff sneaks into each suite during dinner and lights candles all over the room. Little touches like these made the experience by far our favorite of the trip. I honestly can't say enough about how much we loved Pacuare. Hopefully the pictures will speak for themselves.
