Costa Rica: Gift of Happiness

I have an extremely lucky friend whose most recent spot of luck came in the form of winning a trip to Costa Rica through the Costa Rica Tourism Board's Million Dollar Gift of Happiness campaign. Luckily for me, I was invited to tag along. The Adrenaline Happiness trip package he chose was eight days and consisted of activities like rafting, zip lining and kayaking - all of which were incredible. Here are a few highlights from our trip, with more to come about the specific places we stayed throughout the week. Enjoy!

Things in my suitcase.

{Head lamp}

I used to love packing for a trip, but more recently trying to fill a suitcase with all the essentials is quite daunting - especially when you'll be in the rain forest for a week in places that apparently have no electricity. While the idea of not even being able to so much as think about drying my hair trumps any feelings of loss over not having a computer, it does present a challenge when filling up this suitcase of mine (hence the 12+ hours I spent on-and-off packing today). Here are a few things that will be making the trek with me to Costa Rica. See you in a week!

{Lots of Nike Dri Fit clothes for rain forest excursions}

{Rain gear, obviously, but also beach wear}

{Books, devotionals & games for downtime - especially excited to finish The Memory Keeper's Daughter}

{An absurd amount of toiletries}

{Snacks...essential}

Pretzel Bites

For advertising's biggest day of the year, I decided to finally try out this recipe, which I originally saw on Pinterest. While my past two bread hook experiences were disasters, this recipe was surprisingly easy to follow and the dough turned out perfectly light and airy. Before my bread hook luck runs out, I think my next undertaking will be these, these or these donuts.
